Description
Range of FRAS Conveyor Belts Available
SEC Business Group supplies a range of FRAS conveyor belts designed to help mitigate fire risk, improve workplace safety, and support compliance with industry health and safety requirements.
Our FRAS belts are fire resistant, anti-static, and designed for efficient splicing and repair using standard materials, making them suitable for demanding industrial and mining applications.
Above Ground FRAS Belt Options
FRAS belting is generally used above ground where fire resistance and anti-static performance are required for improved safety and equipment protection.
Available options include:
- FRAS K
- FRAS OR (Oil Resistant)
- FRAS SAR (Super Abrasive Resistant)
FRAS S Conveyor Belts
FRAS S belts are generally used below ground in underground coal mines, power plants, sulphur conveying systems, and other high-risk environments where higher levels of fire resistance and anti-static performance are required.
All FRAS S belts supplied by SEC Business Group have been independently tested by Safework NSW to help ensure industry compliance.
Our 3 ply and 4 ply FRAS S belts are certified, along with our steel cord FRAS S belts. Five-ply FRAS S belts are currently in the process of testing and certification.
FRAS S belting has been supplied to major mining operations, including companies such as Xstrata (now Glencore) and Anglo American.
Why FRAS Matters
Fire is an increasing risk to conveyor systems across many industrial and mining applications. FRAS, meaning Fire Resistant and Anti-Static, refers to a specialised rubber compound designed to resist flame propagation while reducing static build-up.
This is achieved through a carefully engineered combination of polymers, chemicals, and additives that improve the fire retardant and anti-static properties of the conveyor belt.
